Connection

                                The foundation of FTR is the connection we share.

Over the past several months our community has experienced connection in a way that is truly magical. There seems to be a powerful energy that is gaining momentum, effecting all that it touches.

This past Saturday at our 10:00 am bootcamp class, Tessa Acker announced that her brother, Ian (FTR founder and coolest dude ever) reached a milestone in recovery, celebrating his sixth year of new life (sober). It was a very touching moment. Tessa shared about how important recovery is for her family and how important it is for sober people to share their new way of life with their families.

There were several people that were moved to tears, I was one of them.

After class I watched as many people approached Ian, they all had one thing in common- their eyes.
Yes there were smiles but the twinkle in their eyes was indescribable. I felt the connection they had to him, not only because he was sober, not only because he is the founder of FTR but more importantly because Ian has an uncanny ability to connect with people by allowing them to be themselves.
I watched as Ian spoke with each person, he did it without judgement, without fear and without ego.

I am going to challenge everyone who reads this to try to connect a little deeper, without ego, fear and judgement!
